Happy Canada Day!

Our little town (well actually I think we're just a hamlet!) hosted the Lakeshore July 1st Celebrations this year.  We were so looking forward to the festivities this year since it was so close to home but the weather had other plans for us.  It rained most of the day.  However we had been invited by our neighbours, the Diemers, to have the boys ride on their little "train" in the parade, so we decided rain or not we were going.

We had a little break in the weather as we headed up town but just before the parade started, it started raining hard.  Chris and I walked beside the kids with umbrellas to try and keep them as dry as possible.  Well it worked - a little.

Most of the events were not running for the afternoon so we packed them up right after the parade and brought them home.  I think they were happy to get home and change into warm, dry clothes!

Chris and I drove out to the end of the driveway at 10pm to watch the fireworks with our monitor in hand as the little ones were sound asleep.  They put on a nice display!  Let's hope next year is a little drier!
