Turks and Caicos

We took the kids on our first far away family vacation. Chris, Tara, Luc, Tommy, Evan and I left Feb 4th for a week just as a major storm was about to hit our area. Thank goodness we left before the storm struck. The only sad part was that Nick did not come with us. He missed out on a great trip. Here was our first view of the island as we were coming in for a landing

Our Hotel, Beaches Resort, costly but worth it as we had waited so long to take this trip

Tara, Tommy and Luc with Big Bird. The hotel is partnered with Sesame Street and several of the characters walk around and do shows and activities with the kids.

Tara on the booze cruise. She had alot of fun and was quite intoxicated when she got back!

Our poolside piazza suite. This was the master suite with the twins cribs on the other side.

The kids room. This is where Tara and Luc slept. It had the main entrance and there was a pocket door with a bit of a hallway to get to our suite. So Tara and Luc could come in later and they wouldn't disturb the twins.

This is part of the pool in our area, the Italian Village.

Our section of the hotel. There are 3 villages at this hotel.

One of the Sesame Street Evening Stage Shows. Tommy and Evan loved this show. Tommy was dancing in the aisle!

Chris, Luc and Tara went Parasailing. I sat in the boat and took pictures. They had a long ride way up in the air!

The Twins are 1 Year Old

We celebrated their birthday a couple of times. First on Easter weekend with each side of the family and then at home with our family on the actual day of their birth. It was alot of fun although at this age they (like so many others) had no idea what was really going on!

First Halloween

Wow, this year is full of so many "firsts"!  I remember getting a phone call from Rachel asking me for a date with her and Rayanne.  We met at Tim Horton's in Essex and she gave me a few gifts.  The first was a set of "twins" from the Willow Tree collection of figurines.  They are two little boys (very ironic as we didn't know what we were having at that time) sitting together.  The other was two identical penguin costumes for Halloween.  Well let me tell you they were adorable.  And still are today.  They fit the boys perfectly and they look so cute in them.

We had a gathering of the Mitchells and tried to get a group shot.  Not so easy with all the little ones.  Lots of crying going on at this age!  Nevertheless, we persevered and got some pics, tears and all!

By this time, the boys have been growing like crazy. Evan is 11 lbs. 2 oz. and 22.5 inches long. We have now met with several of Evans specialists. In London, we've met Dr. Matic (plastic surgeon), Dr. Butter (general surgeon-hernia repair), Dr. deRibau-Pierre (neurologist) and in Windsor, we've met with Dr. Morgan (pediatician), Derek Kozar (orthotist-helmet), Dr. Anderson (family doctor) and of course, the "girlfriends" at the John McGivney Centre - Tonia (speech pathologist), Louise Henry (occupational therapist), Bonnie Darbyson (physiotherapist) and Sharyn Zerbin (behavioural consultant. That's just the beginning!!
