Thomas the train party

I had planned to have a few themed parties back in the summer just to break up the long days.  Especially when Chris is farming.  We are alone a lot during that time.  I have collected different ideas from Pinterest and cheap items from the dollar store.  It also helps that Tommy (and Evan now) loves Thomas the Train.  So, we have an abundance of toys and other items to choose from.

Well summer quickly turned into fall and the twins started school and I took on several projects at the church and here at home.  The parties didn't happen.  Until now.  This turned out to be quite a bit of fun!

Added stickers to party hats
Evan didn't want to wear his party hat so Mommy volunteered.

I put together a prize bag for each of them.  The ironed a Thomas picture from the new King of the Railway movie to a canvas bag from the dollar store.  I made "Boarding Passes" for each of them on the computer.  A few stickers and a whistle completed the package.  We had the hats here at home from a birthday gift earlier this year.

We finished off the party by curling up on the couch and watching The King of the Railway movie.  It was a fun afternoon!  Peep! Peep!

Goodbye to Rev. Catherine

Rev. Catherine Elsdon

As mentioned before, we have been incredibly blessed to have Rev. Catherine Elsdon with us.  She has given us many gifts and breathed some new life into our congregation.  She is going to be greatly missed.  Her last service with us was today and it was a reflection of this year.  She has a unique and touching way of presenting her ideas and sermons and today was no exception.  Through the lighting of candles she reminded us of all that we have experienced and accomplished this year.  This talented and gifted young lady will touch many lives in her ministry. I know that I am incredibly grateful and blessed that she began his ministry with us.  God Bless!

Christmas Service

Today was our last Sunday service before Christmas.  Catherine had a special tree set up and had invited the Sunday School kids as well as a few adults participate in the service to decorate the tree.  It was a truly special service.  She is such a gift to us.  Our time with her is quickly coming to an end.  We are going to miss her greatly.  She has given so much in such a short time.
