It's a Bird. It's a Plane. No, it's a Helicopter!

Chris had some of his corn sprayed this summer.  It was done by a small helicopter.  I knew they were coming but didn't know what time.  He flew overhead very early in the morning.  What a sound to wake up to!  It was pretty neat to watch as they can make some pretty tight turns at the end of the field and can right back.

Splash Pad #1 - Colchester Harbour

Well it just does not want to stop raining!  Not sure how much we've had but it has been alot.  It's tough to plan any special outings with the weather the way it's been.  We needed to get out of the house for a bit so I took a chance that the rain would hold off for a bit.  And it did.  Packed the twins up and headed to Colchester Harbour to hopefully find the Pirate Ship and Splash Pad.  I've only been there once before and didn't remember seeing it that time.  But I found it no problem.  We were able to play for about an hour.  We could see the storm coming.  It was awfully dark and we could hear the thunder getting closer.  Thankfully without too much screaming, I got them packed back up, changed and in the van before the storm hit.  It was a little short but still fun!

Evan on the slide on the Pirate Ship

Tried to get the two boys together and pose on the pirate ship.  I couldn't catch Tommy and Evan wasn't happy about posing as you can see.  Maybe next time!

New colour for living room

I have been waiting over a year to repaint the living room.  We had some water damage to our drywall in the corner by the fireplace that needed to be repaired and we kept putting it off.  Finally this winter when we worked on the laundry room we had all of the drywall work done.  I was a tad burned out after the winter reno so this room went on hold for a little bit.  I finally got my butt in gear last week and primed the repaired areas and painted the new colour on.  Oh boy, do I love it.  I also pulled the fireplace surround and mantel I had purchased over a year ago out of our closet so it could finally be installed.  Lastly, I picked up some baseboard trim to finish off the room.  I LOVE the way it has turned out.  Just needs a little artwork and some curtains to finish it off!

Renovations

Well it was only a minor renovation but still one nonetheless.  We worked on the "north end" of the house this past winter.  The main entranceway, small bath and laundry room.  That area sees a lot of foot traffic as it is also our entranceway from the garage (through the laundry room).  The flooring was replaced, fresh paint and we removed the closet from the laundry and added some pantry closets and cubby shelves and replaced the vanity in the bathroom.

Check it out!

Some home updates

We've been updating and make some changes (mostly cosmetic) to a few rooms in the house.  The Main Bath was actually begun about 2 years ago.  Well maybe 3.  Can't remember.  That was when we removed the carpet and put down the tile.  Then a while later I painted and just this winter (I know we're bad) we finally put all the trim back up.  Here's a few shots of the after.  Can't find the before right now!
