Essex Tots Halloween Parade

On Thursday, October 27th the town of Essex had their tots parade which I have wanted to go to the last 2 Halloweens but we always seemed to have doctors appts on the day it was scheduled. This year Evan did have therapy but I changed the date so that we could go. Of course like almost every other day this year it rained but it was a light rain and actually didn't start until I got into Essex and was unloading them into the stroller. It was a chilly day also but I brought lots of blankets and we had warm coats, hats and my big umbrella. We kind of cut it a little short as there was alot more people than I expected and these little ones had had enough but it was fun. I think their costumes speak for themselves although I had a bit of trouble getting Tommy to wear his full costume (which suprised me). He also was not very co-operative with pictures (which didn't surprise me at all!).

APPLE TIME

We took the little boys to go apple picking one sunny afternoon in early October. Of course we were done in 10 minutes flat as they lost interest pretty quick. Although they had fun throwing the apples in the cart. Yes, throwing. So needless to say I will probably be making a few pies and lots of applesauce with all my bruised apples. It was still fun even if it was quick. They also crashed pretty much as soon as we got back into the van and had a second afternoon nap!

Back to it

I'm getting pretty darn fed up with Facebook and will most likely be spending more time here posting updates on the family. I will be quite honest that I do not have much time to spend at the computer these days (especially without little helper typers who love the delete button) but I'll do my best to post a little more often than I have in the past.

The Twins are 2 Years Old!

We bought the boys a train table with all the tracks, trains and accessories but of course it had to be assembled. I was too tired to do it the night before so I gave it to them in the morning in the box which they had no idea what it was. They "helped" me assemble it which meant Tommy was stealing all my tools and Evan was climbing all over everything. And naturally during all the chaos I didn't realize the directions were upside down and I put the legs on incorrectly which threw everything else off. Once I realized my error I ripped it apart and re-assembled. Much better! I fed the twins their lunch and put them down for their naps and then finished assembling and placing all the tracks etc. Oh the look on their faces when they got up - especially Tommy, my Thomas the train fanatic! We again this year had our celebration at home on the actual day of their birthday and then a big party with both sides of the family on Saturday night with two cakes - Thomas and Elmo - their favourites that I made. Next time I think I'll leave cake decorating to the professionals!

Turks and Caicos

We took the kids on our first far away family vacation. Chris, Tara, Luc, Tommy, Evan and I left Feb 4th for a week just as a major storm was about to hit our area. Thank goodness we left before the storm struck. The only sad part was that Nick did not come with us. He missed out on a great trip. Here was our first view of the island as we were coming in for a landing

Our Hotel, Beaches Resort, costly but worth it as we had waited so long to take this trip

Tara, Tommy and Luc with Big Bird. The hotel is partnered with Sesame Street and several of the characters walk around and do shows and activities with the kids.

Tara on the booze cruise. She had alot of fun and was quite intoxicated when she got back!

Our poolside piazza suite. This was the master suite with the twins cribs on the other side.

The kids room. This is where Tara and Luc slept. It had the main entrance and there was a pocket door with a bit of a hallway to get to our suite. So Tara and Luc could come in later and they wouldn't disturb the twins.

This is part of the pool in our area, the Italian Village.

Our section of the hotel. There are 3 villages at this hotel.

One of the Sesame Street Evening Stage Shows. Tommy and Evan loved this show. Tommy was dancing in the aisle!

Chris, Luc and Tara went Parasailing. I sat in the boat and took pictures. They had a long ride way up in the air!
